Farming is a struggle throughout Maine. In this episode, the Bouchard family of Fort Kent introduces us to the world of potato farming and their cottage industry making a pancake mix called "ployes." The Bouchards are betting that their investment in bringing a piece of Acadian culture to the general public will keep their farm active for generations to come. Harvest of hope looks at culture as community and as family in the St. John River Valley of northern Aroostook County. |
